How To Setup a DIY Hot Cocoa Bar

Is there anything sweeter than a Christmas hot cocoa bar?

A Christmas hot cocoa bar with lots and lots of toppings of course!

The hot cocoa bar is one of my all time favorite things to setup for the holidays.

They are perfect for holiday parties and Christmas dinners, they add that little something special to the event.

Here are some of my favorite ways to create a whimsical hot cocoa bar on a budget.

Hot Chocolate Bar Tips, Tricks, & Toppings

The first thing I like to do is start with a cute table runner to tie in the theme and color scheme, this one is adorable and double-sided!

Next, I love to add a little tree to the cocoa bar to give the setting some height & they are so fun to decorate! These are the candy cane stems I used to add a little sparkle to the tree.

I want to drink absolutely everything out of these adorable Santa mugs.

How sweet are these paper straws?!

They add a fun pop of color, plus they are perfect for stirring in all the delicious toppings.

Another trick I use all the time is to use wrapping paper to cover the not so pretty essentials, like the whip cream, hot fudge, and carmel sauce jars.

Its an inexpensive trick that adds a fun pattern to the set up.

Clear jars are also a fun way to showcase the pretty essentials, like the red hots, sprinkles, and marshmallows.

I snagged theses striped ramekins from Michaels for only $2, to hold my chocolate sprinkles!

In addition I love to add these fun Christmas signs to the display.

Michaels has a ton of cute options and there is always a coupon available!

My DIY Santa cookie tray also made its way to the hot chocolate bar, but don’t worry we will take it out on Christmas eve to get Santa’s cookies ready.

Another fun up-cycle project was this menu sign.

I created it out of a cabinet door front, you can check out the whole tutorial here!
