All the best outdoor furniture finds to create an outdoor oasis on a budget
We are all in on our front porch makeover & so far this “quick” project has had a bunch of things added to the list already 😅
I am so glad though we are tackling it now so that we can enjoy it all summer long!
We haven’t done anything to it since we moved in last May, so it’s in pretty rough condition…

But there is a lot of potential for an outdoor dining space on one side.
A cozy bed swing on the opposite side with end tables & string lights.
Plus having a set of rocking chairs to overlook the pasture & cows would be a dream!
Check out the entire front porch design board here!
A major component to any outdoor oasis though, is the furniture.
Outdoor furniture can be tricky because it should be comfy, last a long time, & also be pretty without breaking the bank.
Our porch will have a mixture of furniture we built, like the dining table.
And also some new pieces to add a little extra oomph to the space!
So while I was endlessly researching some budget friendly options I rounded up a bunch of my favorites to share with y’all!

My Main Goals When Choosing Outdoor Furniture Are:
1. Find Pieces That Will Last

Metal will outlast wood pieces unless it is properly sealed each season.
This metal outdoor table is one of my favorites because it looks like wood but will last through the seasons!
2. Pick Neutral Colors

I try & stay away from bright colors & patterns that can’t easily be changed.
Sticking with neutrals will make it easy to dress the pieces up with interchangeable pillows & rugs instead.
This helps me not get sick of the piece by the next season 😉
3. Easily Washable

Anything that lives outdoors is going to get dirty.
Especially with the toddler, dogs, & pollen that circulate our farm.
So any outdoor furniture we purchase needs to be able to be pressure washed!
Cushions need to be able to be detached so that they can be machine washed also.
My little tip is to add Scotch Guard to everything & anything!
4. Comfortable & Conversational

The whole point of an outdoor oasis is for relaxing & enjoying so I always keep comfort a top priority!
We also love to host dinners & family gatherings outdoors so I want the pieces to accommodate a small group at-least.
No solo chairs out in the middle of no mans land.
5. Stick To a Budget

I know outdoor furniture can be expensive, so it helps to start with a budget.
Decide which new pieces you can’t live without, then scour Facebook Marketplace & thrift stores for the ones that tug on your heart strings less.
Rusted side tables & metal furniture can be made to look new with a good degreasing & some spray paint!
If you are wanting to save on outdoor pillows, stick to buying inserts & making your own covers out of scrap fabric, old tablecloths, or even curtains!
Outdoor rugs if chosen carefully can be another good find, some just need a good pressure washing.

Those are just some simple tips I use when shopping outdoor furniture & creating my own outdoor oasis.
I can’t wait for this front porch to come together & for us to enjoy it for many seasons to come.
