One Room Challenge: Garage Renovation Reveal
A COMPLETE GARAGE/WORKSHOP RENOVATION TO INCORPORATE STORAGE & WORK AREAS, WHILE KEEPING EVERYTHING ORGANIZED & CLEAN LOOKING
Y’all we made it! It is the week we have all been waiting for & keeping me up at night, its reveal week. This is our third time participating in the One Room Challenge event & we are lifers, even though I keep telling Justin
Before we ever participated in the One Room Challenge we did a practice run in our office, then our first real challenge was the laundry room makeover, followed by the nursery! This time we decided to tackle our gross, dark, & cluttered garage.
The Before:

Yeah so clearly there was a lot of work to be done. During week one 1 I laid out my design for

Week 2
During week 2 I decluttered the whole garage. It took me a while but it was definitely necessary. I came up with 10 tips to make decluttering easier for y’all so be sure to check those out if you are feeling overwhelmed with your next decluttering project.
Week 3
Week 3 was a tough week for me y’all. I spent the entire weekend painting in the Alabama heat & I was regretting even taking on this project, but by the end, I was super happy with the result! We used Useful Gray by Sherwin Williams to brighten up the space & it did just the trick!
Week 4/5
Week 4 & 5 were a major organization & build weeks for us. My father-in-law & husband built our amazing storage shelving system! I will have a full tutorial on how to make your own soon! I was also able to put up all our hooks & we hung our scrap wood storage unit!
Reveal
I know y’all are really only here for the pretty after photos, (if a garage can even be called pretty). So after a grueling, non-stop 6 weeks of hard & dirty work, here is our after!

Ahhh now this is a garage I can breathe in.

I big puffy heart love this scrap wood storage shelving. It was so simple to put up & really budget savvy.

We added these hooks to organize our bigger tools & ladders to get them off the floor.

This little bench adds a cozy spot to take off your shoes or watch your husband make cuts for other projects while you snap photos & make cheeky comments about their butt ? The broom holder is great for keeping all of our cleaning tools organized & out of the pantry!

This bench came from a plan from Shanty 2 Chic that we made a while ago. The concrete countertop I made with Quikrete countertop mix & coloring. We were blessed to have them partner with us to make this awesome workbench top & I’ll have a whole DIY tutorial up on the blog soon! Big shoutout to my dad for coming over & helping me make the countertop, I would still be mixing if not for him!

Oh my, this shelving makes me swoon. My wonderful husband & father-in-law made this beauty in about 4 hours! It cost less than $150 & I can’t wait to fill it with the rest of our storage bins that I have shoved all over the house. Ill put up this simple storage DIY on the blog later next week!

Of course my favorite tool needs its own area!

How cute are these little screw jar storage containers?! They originally held potato salad from the sister’s picnic themed bridal shower, but this works too! The shelf brackets are from Walmart.

Justin got the hook unit for free from a work friend, so I gave it a little paint TLC & now its the perfect hook shelf for my air hoses & levels.

I am so thrilled to be at the end of this project! It is probably the least “pretty” of all the renovations we have ever done, but it is super functional, bright & clean which were my main goals, so, nailed it! I wanna again thank our partner Quikrete & all the amazing fathers in our life for helping us with this project. Also shoutout to our mothers for watching baby Eli while the big power tools were being used. Last but never least, thank you to my husband for always taking my DIY dream & making this garage renovation a reality.
Don’t forget to check out all the other amazing bloggers participating in this season’s ORC.

Lia your garage is a perfect I would not want to mess it up so I would be using my tools in the driveway. I love the workbench I have workbench envy! The cozy bench adds a little soft furnishing to a garage what could be better than that? You really know how to update a space.
Congratulations,
Kippi
