Garage Workshop and Storage Solutions: Plus Design Board

The best garage workshop storage solutions to make your space functional and clean

Does anyone else’s garage need to double as a workshop and storage space?

I couldn’t be raising my hand any higher!

Truthfully we have a detached garage that could be for storage but Adam has claimed it for a future gym…

If that doesn’t “workout” (see what I did there) though, don’t think I won’t create myself a she shed real quick 😉

Until then I will just have to make the main garage work for both storage and wood working projects.

I know what you are thinking… girl you are in the middle of a chicken coop, walk-in closet, and kitchen renovation!

Yes I am aware that is a lot to take on, but if you have ever done any major home DIY projects you know that you need space to work and it needs to be organized.

That is why we are halting operations until we can get a handle on this situation.

Mhmm it’s not good y’all…

We don’t know where anything is and it is driving us slightly more insane than we usually are.

So here is what I’m thinking to make this space functional, clean, and organized (plus cute):

For the color scheme I am thinking a black accent wall and the other walls a creamy white.

I love the idea of gold accents and keeping things cute while remaining functional.

Main Back Garage Wall Tool Storage

The main back wall will be the accent wall where the workbench and a metal table will go

I am thinking a large peg board for tool storage and using gold towel bars to hang clamps from.

Also a nice large outdoor rug to make the space feel for chic or a bit cozier.

And who wouldn’t want a mini fridge in their workshop!

Long Side Garage Storage Wall

The long side, garage wall will be simple because it is all for wood storage and seasonal decor.

I am thinking DIY black shelves with gold brackets for the wood storage area.

Small Side Wall

The last wall is shared with the stairs leading to the deck so it won’t be as usable as the other two walls.

For this wall we will have a kitting area. This is where each project’s supplies will be stored in individual boxes.

This is something we have learned that makes a project so much easier because everything you need for it is simply in a box ready to go.

Garage Design Inspiration

This was definitely the inspiration for my single black wall! I mean, could I swoon any harder over a workshop… no I couldn’t.

I love the idea of small drawers and an actual countertop in a garage.

I don’t exactly know if this is meant for wood storage but it would be perfect!

Those are just some ideas and inspiration for our upcoming garage makeover project.

I can’t wait to get started and have this space be more organized.
