Ahh do you hear that? That’s the sound of all my craft room supplies cheering because they finally have a forever home. We created a craft room/office for me as a trial One Room Challenge project a little over a year ago. We renovated the entire space & its one of my favorite rooms in the house. However, being on a 6 week renovation deadline meant that the closet was sadly ignored.
As part of this years 8 week cleaning/decluttering/organization challenge I decided to finally finish it off! It was long over due & I feel so at peace knowing I won’t have to search for hours looking for one craft supply any longer!
Lets take a peek at the before shall we?

So just a regular small closet that desperately needed some love. The first thing I did to the space was to add adhesive shelf line to the back wall for a little faux wall paper action. I also used this same pattern to spruce up some boring furniture during my guest bedroom refresh.

After my faux wallpaper was up I painted the remaining walls with some left over paint. It helped to brighten up the small space.
Wreath Storage
The left side of the closet I decided would be the perfect place to store some of my DIY wreaths. I used one long closet rod cut into 3 different lengths & closet bar holders to accomplish this. That rod is actually what I used to make my DIY curtain rods too!

On the right side of the closet I added shelving for craft supply storage. Matching storage bins are definitely one of my love languages yall.

Gift Wrap Storage
My favorite thing about this newly organized craft closet has to be this Organized Living wrapping paper organizer kit! Finally my wrapping paper is stored nice & neatly with all my bows & ribbons within reach! Plus it was super simple to put together. Here’s a quick video on how easy it is to assemble!

I absolutely love having all my ribbon & bows in one place.

This fun wrapping cart was made during the original office renovation & is perfect for when I want to wrap presents in front of the TV watching The Office. I bought the cart from Michaels & just added some vinyl labels & boxes.

****Tip: If you don’t have matching storage boxes you can wrap boxes with black wrapping paper to make them all look uniform****
Office Deep Clean
I started the deep clean/declutter challenge with this room as well! If you haven’t joined us yet head on over to our Instagram to find out how to enter & print out your free whole house cleaning list here!
Before:

To start the decluttering process I use 3 laundry baskets:
- Keep items
- Donate items
- Throw away items
After you have all your items sorted its time to deep clean the room.
Check out our free printable cleaning list to make your room extra sparkly clean!

That’s it! One room is officially checked off our list & it feels so good!
I would love to see your before & after photos so be sure to post them on Instagram using #sydhomechallenge & tagging Southern Yankee DIY for your chance to win a Lowes gift card!
The room looks amazing! You did great with the closet. I never would have thought to use shelf liner as wallpaper. Very creative!!
Thanks Michelle! It is so easy to put up & costs way less so I am a big fan!
