2020 Home Project To-Do list
A 2020 HOME PROJECT TO-DO LIST OF ALL OUR UPCOMING PROJECTS WE HOPE TO TACKLE THROUGHOUT THE NEW YEAR & THE WONDERFUL INSPIRATION THAT WILL BE DRIVING THE DESIGNS FOR EACH SPACE. PLUS I AM REVEALING A FUN BRAND PARTNERSHIP BELOW
Pantry
I have been wanting to tackle our pantry for a while now. It is a good size space that just hasn’t reached its full potential yet. The space could definitely be better utilized & my hopes are to add lots of shelving & fun food storage options. Plus I would like some

This pantry from The Home Edit is organization goals! Plus there is an entire container of just ring pops so they definitely speak my love language!
Upstairs Living Room/Playroom
We have this amazing space upstairs that currently holds a couch & a TV. We use it sometimes to watch TV, but now that the baby is here it is definitely more coinvent to be upstairs with him since that’s where his nursery is. I really want to transform the space into a functional & cozy living room/playroom. It has so much potential because it is currently just a blank canvas. There would definitely need to be storage for toys & books, seating for grown ups & littles, also maybe a desk for when he is ready to color & do homework. The possibilities are endless & I already know this will be one of my favorite renovations of the year!

How fun is this living room from Blesser House?! Lauren did an amazing job of mixing fun & practical elements into the room.
Linen Closet
2020 will be the year of closet organization for the Southern Yankee house! In 2019 I gave our coat closet a quick makeover & now its time to tackle the rest of the mess that lies behind closed doors. Our linen closet desperately needs some help, its kind of awkward which will be a bit of a challenge but I am excited to take it on. The plan will be to add some easy shelving & cute but functional storage for all the linens.
***UPDATE we completed the linen closet makeover***

This linen closet from Sincerely, Marie is nicely organized & I love her wall paper choice! I have been debating painting our interior doors a dark grey also, so maybe we will start with that one!
Parlor
We call this room the parlor, but that’s just our fancy way of saying the room that holds our bar & is off the dinning room. The plan for this room will be to add fancy molding around the window & also do a cool accent wall behind the bar.

Something like this herringbone wall from Honey Built Home would be nice. I am thinking of a deep blue or possibly even black for the accent wall! We will see just how brave I am.
Outside
Our outdoor space is first on Justin’s wish list for the new year. It needs a lot of work, basically, we haven’t done much to it since we moved in. His plans involve adding a path from our back fence to the walking trails behind our house. I also want to cozy up our back porch & clean up the front yard.
***UPDATE the patio makeover is complete***
***UPDATE the front yard got a beautiful facelift***

This outdoor dinning space from Dimples & Tangles is perfect for dinner parties & relaxing on the weekends.
Craft Room Closet
We took on renovating our office for a practice One Room Challenge in 2018 & its still one of my favorite rooms! I did not, however, makeover the closet & it definitely needs to be organized to be more functional. We are super excited to announce we will be partnering with Organized Living to take on this space! I can’t wait to get started.
***UPDATE craft room closet is complete***

This over the door wrapping paper holder is going to be a real game changer for us & I cant wait to install it!

I would really love to add some cute & fun organization like this closet from Beautiful Protest
Upstairs Bathroom
This is a project I would absolutely love to accomplish this year & I am crossing my fingers we can get to it! I really want to add some fun elements for Eli without making it super kiddy. Adding a fun print would be cool, either with tile or wallpaper.

This tile pattern in Taryn Whiteaker is beyond gorgeous! I big puffy heart love the charcoal vanity too!
***UPDATE the spare bathroom did get a little makeover***
So that’s my big 2020 home project to- do list! I can’t wait to get started really digging into each space. Justin is thrilled too… well he agreed so that’s basically the same thing as far as I’m concerned. To get inside looks on all our projects join our email list & follow us on Instagram. Whats on your list for the new year?
I wish you all the best tackling everything on your to-do list! We’re continuing with our home renovation soon so our list is completely full! 🙂
Thanks Michelle! I work best when I am completely overwhelmed (nervous laughter)……
