Upcycle Project: Faux Galvanized Tub
MAKE THIS SUPER BUDGET SAVVY FAUX GALVANIZED WITH DOLLAR TREE SUPPLIES. IT’S PERFECT FOR OUTDOOR PARTIES OR A HOSTESS GIFT.
I don’t know if anything quite screams farmhouse like a galvanized tub yall! They are perfect for outdoor parties to hold ice & keep beverages cool, they also make amazing hostess gifts. Because they became trendy, they also became kinda expensive.
When I heard this months At Home Challenge was an upcycle project I knew exactly what I want to make! I upcycled this plain plastic Dollar Tree tub into a faux galvanized tub that will be perfect for holding beverages or snacks for summer BBQs.
Supplies:
Process:
This upcycle project was such a breeze I feel like I’m cheating even writing this how-to but here we go!

First I simply spray painted my Dollar Tree plastic bin with my Rust oleum Hammered spray paint. Two coats is all it really needed, just make sure to get the inside really well since that’s the part that will be holding all the goodies.

Next I added some vinyl that I cut from my Cricut machine to personalize it. You could easily do the same thing with stickers or stencils but vinyl is just easier for me.

That’s it! Yepp a whopping two steps & I have myself a super cute & budget savvy faux galvanized tub for summer parties! I absolutely love how it turned out & you definitely wont know its not galvanized until you touch it. This spray paint covered really nicely & I always recommend Rust oleum brand because it always goes on really smooth for me.

If you were making this as a hostess gift or birthday gift it would be really fun to personalize it & stuff if with a bunch of grilling goodies or snacks. The possibilities are really endless.

Don’t forget to check out all the other amazing upcycle projects for this months challenge below & let me know what you think of our faux galvanized tub!
