DIY Succulents Centerpiece Pottery Barn Dupe
Make this simple diy faux succulents centerpiece for less than a quarter of what the Pottery Barn Version costs
Raise your hand if you have been personally victimized by Pottery Barn.
If you could see my hand you would know it is raised & waving y’all!
I have been drooling over their new outdoor decor pieces & fell absolutely in love with these succulent centerpieces.
They are exactly what I envisioned for the succulents centerpiece on our newly made over outdoor table.
The only problem is that it would basically live outdoors (who remembers to bring that stuff in & out every time 😅) & that seems like to big of a price tag for something that will have to endure the elements…
So I did what any full grown, mature adult would do.. had a 3 second pity party & then headed to our local Dollar General.
By the way, do y’all have a Dollar General or is that more of a southern thing?
I scooped up this super cute round bowl on that trip & decided I could DIY my own succulent centerpiece & that wouldn’t suck one bit (couldn’t help myself sorry)!

DIY Faux Succulent Centerpiece
I especially liked this bowl because it kind of looks like a succulent terracotta pot!
First things first, I gathered all the leftover foam balls I had at my disposal.
You could also use those green foam floral blocks but I was out.
So I cut my foam balls in half & did a dry fit test.
Once I figured out how they should be placed, I hot glued them to the bottom of the dish.
I used construction grade hot glue sticks, because they have a really strong hold but any type will work!
After all the foam was in, I also added packing paper around the edges & hot glued that into place.
Now that I have my bowl fillers all in place I started adding in moss.
No real method here, I just added enough to make sure the bowl looked nice & full.
Once that was all glued down, I moved onto the fun part!
I bought these faux succulents a couple of years ago when I built my hanging wall planter.
This year I got talked into trying to grow real herbs in them which left these succulents jobless.
I used garden shears to cut down the stems but wire cutters would have been much easier 😅
Next, I stuck the stems into the foam balls & glued them down.
Finally, I finished the whole centerpiece off by giving it a coat of Scotch Guard to make it a little more resistant to the elements.
This succulents centerpiece definitely doesn’t suck & is even cuter than I thought it would be!
It looks so high end & literally only cost me $5 to make.
Not to mention it’s so much cheaper than the Pottery Barn version I was going for.
You could even use a Dremel to drill holes in the bottom of your dish & create a real succulent centerpiece instead!
Decorating with succulents is my new favorite thing, especially the fake kind 😉
Let me know what you think of this faux succulent centerpiece & also any tips you have for the real herbs that are basically dying in my wall planter…
