Oh my it’s week 5 y’all!
If I thought last week was panic time, this week definitely is.
We have come such a long way in 5 weeks renovating this boring builder grade pantry, but we still have a lot to do!
IF YOU ARE NEW HERE, WE ARE TAKING PART IN THIS SEASONS ONE ROOM CHALLENGE. THIS CHALLENGE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES, A BUNCH OF AMAZING DIY-ERS TAKE ON RENOVATING AN ENTIRE ROOM IN JUST 6 WEEKS!
Catch Up Here: Week 1 ~ Week 2 ~ Week 3 ~ Week 4
This post is part of a sponsorship with Hardwood Lumber Company, but as always the thoughts & opinions are my own. Take a peek at our privacy & disclosure policy here.
This week I got busy sanding and painting the DIY cabinets, shelves, & tall storage unit.
The plan is to paint the entire room the same color as the shelves to give it a built-in look.
As per usual I went with Pure White by Sherwin Williams because you absolutely can have a favorite shade of white & this is mine 😉
Now that the paint is dry it’s time to reveal my most favorite element of the pantry design…

The butcher block countertop!
Y’all if this isn’t the most gorgeous piece of wood you have ever seen than I don’t know what is!

This beautiful countertop is from Hardwood Lumber Company.

It’s their Wormy Maple Edge Grain butcher block countertop that I had completely customized for this pantry space.

Hardwood Lumber Company makes it easy to customize every detail of your countertop. From thickness, grain, finish, & even the edge detail!
For this space I went with:
- 14″ depth
- 2″ thickness
- 1/8 edge radius detail
- Finished with acrylic polyurethane in flat
- Hand planed
They cut it to exactly the length I needed to fit my space!
I simply maneuvered it into place on top of my DIY cabinets & it fit like a glove.

Hardwood Lumber Company made this the easiest portion of this pantry renovation so far & definitely my favorite element.

The mixed wood tones really give life & dimension to the space.

Now all that’s left is to style it with all my fun pantry essentials!
This week I will be working hard on adding a fun backsplash behind the countertop & buttoning up this room.

Can you share where the wallpaper is from? Also the name of the wallpaper?
Hi Connie! The backsplash is actually a stencil! You can find the complete stencil backsplash tutorial here!
