Well we had our first nice day over here in Alabama so naturally I jumped on it and started pulling out my spring décor!
I love to incorporate natural items in my home decor, except for the flowers those are usually faux. Real flowers are beautiful but honestly the two weeks of alive time is just not realistic for our budget.
Flowers aren’t the only staple in our spring and summer decor though, in season fruits also double as a great decor.
Lemons are a beautiful addition to our home’s decor and there are so many different ways to utilize them.

Their vibrant color makes me feel happy and there is no fresher scent than the smell of lemons.
The best part about incorporating lemons into your decor is that you can create so many things on a serious budget.
So today I thought I would share some of my favorite DIY lemon decor pieces with you.
DIY Lemon Wreath, Candles, and Decor
Lemon Candles

Supplies:
- Wicks
- Candle Wax
- Fresh Lemons
- Lemon Essential Oil
Start by cutting your lemons in half long ways. Once they are cut take a spoon and scoop out the insides, kind of like carving a pumpkin.
You can even save the inside of the lemon and make homemade lemon juice.

You will know when you have scooped enough out when all the strings are gone and you are left with a clean core.
Next, I started heating up the wax, if you don’t have a double boiler, just use two pans. Fill the larger one with enough water that it sits an inch below the surface of the smaller top pan.

While the wax is melting, place the wicks inside the lemons. Using a dab of hot glue on the bottom of the wicks will help them stick in place.

Once the wax was completely melted I added in a few drops of lemon essential oil. I used about two tablespoons, but feel free to add more or less depending on how strong you want your candles to smell.
You could also change the color of the wax by adding in a yellow colored crayon. Once the oil is mixed into the wax use a measuring cup to pour the wax into the lemons.

If the wicks start to lean, close pins work great for keeping them upright.

Let the lemon candles sit over night to dry completely. Then cut the wicks down to 1/2 an inch.
Finally light your new lemon candles and enjoy that fresh clean smell all over your home!
DIY Faux Lemon Wreath
Supplies:
- Faux Lemons
- Hot Glue Gun
- Wreath
- Greenery
- Wire Cutters

Start by cutting down the greenery bundles into single stems so that the leaves are easier to place and manipulate on the wreath.
Use wire cutters to cut the stems, they cut the wire so much easier than kitchen scissors.

Start placing the greenery stems on the wreath until it is nice and full looking. During this part I don’t hot glue anything down until I am positive it is where I want it to be.

Once the leaves are where I want them I start to add in the faux lemons. Just add a little hot glue to the bottom of the lemons and place them right on the greenery.

Adding extra hot glue at the end is always a good idea to make sure everything is nice and secure.
Once you are finished, hold the wreath up and give it a little shake to make sure everything is secure.
That’s it, a super cute designer esque lemon wreath that only cost $15!

More Lemon Decor Ideas
There are so many ways you can incorporate lemons into your homes decor. Honestly just putting your weekly lemon haul into cute bowls, vases, or baskets is decor in itself.
You can also make or buy cute lemon stems and put them in a large vase for a beautiful centerpiece.
There are also some fun lemon decor pieces you can purchase online to sprinkle around your home.
You can also use fresh lemon slices in one of my favorite spring simmer pot recipes. In my book simmer pots double as a natural home scent booster and decor.
