DIY Lemon Wreath & Candles
MAKE THIS DESIGNER ESQUE LEMON WREATH FOR ONLY $15 & THESE WONDERFUL SMELLING LEMON CANDLES OUT OF REAL LEMONS! TWO SIMPLE DIYS TO GET YOUR LEMON THEME DECOR STARTED.
Well we had our first nice day over here in Alabama so naturally I jumped on it & started pulling out my warmer weather décor! It usually consists of a mix of bright faux florals & of course lemons! This year I decided I would DIY a few of my own lemon décor pieces because I just cant pay $50 for a lemon wreath yall & fresh smelling candles are always a win!
Lemon Candles
Supplies:
- Wicks
- Candle Wax
- Fresh Lemons
- Lemon Essential Oil
Process:

Start by cutting your lemons in half long ways. Once they are cut take a spoon & scoop out the insides, kinda like carving a pumpkin. We are huge fresh lemon juice fans over here, so I have the juice by scooping over a little Tupperware container.

You will know when you have scooped enough out when all the strings are gone & you are left with a clean core. Next, I started heating up the wax. I don’t have a double boiler yet but I plan on getting one ASAP. If you don’t have a double boiler just use two pans. Fill the larger one enough water that it sits an inch below the surface of the smaller top pan.

While the wax is melting, place the wicks inside the lemons.

Once the wax was completely melted I added in my lemon essential oil. I added in about two tablespoons but feel free to add more or less depending on how strong you want your candles to smell. You could also change the color of the wax by adding in a colored crayon. After I mixed the oil in really well I used a measuring cup to pour the wax into the lemons. I filled mine all the way to the top.

After I added the wax to the lemons I needed to secure the wicks in order to keep them upright until the wax dried. Using close pins to stand the wicks up worked out perfectly!

Let your candles sit over night to dry. Then cut your wicks down to 1/2 to a half inch. When you are all done go ahead & light your new lemon candles & enjoy that fresh clean smell all over your home!
Faux Lemon Wreath
Supplies:
Process:

I always start by cutting down my greenery bundles into stems & smaller pieces so that they are easier to place & manipulate on the wreath. Use wire cutters to cut the stems, they cut the wire so much easier than kitchen scissors.

After I cut down all my stems I start placing the greenery on the wreath. I don’t start hot gluing anything down until I am sure I like the placement. Sometimes I redo the leaves over & over until I am happy with the fullness so just play around with it until you love it!

Once the leaves are where I wanted them I started to add in my faux lemons. Just add a little hot glue to the bottom of the lemons & place them right on the greenery.

Adding extra hot glue at the end is always a good idea to make sure everything is nice & secure! Hold it up & give it a little shake to be sure everything is holding strong.
That’s it! A super cute designer esque wreath for $15!

The candles are so cute! I never would have thought of using the entire lemon that way. I love the wreath, too!
Thanks Michelle! It was such a fun & fresh little project!
