We did it! Can you believe we made it to the final week of the $100 room challenge!

We are shocked also honestly…

Last week I swear I heard the Rocky theme song playing while I was rushing around like a mad woman trying to get this budget small bathroom remodel finished in time!

ERIN FROM LEMONS, LAVENDER, & LAUNDRY STARTED THIS CHALLENGE A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO (YOU CAN READ MORE ABOUT THAT HERE). BASICALLY, A BUNCH OF VERY TALENTED BLOGGERS GET TOGETHER TO TAKE ON RENOVATING A SPACE FOR $100 OR LESS! WE HAVE 1 MONTH TO COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE & THE HOPE IS TO HAVE A SWOON-WORTHY ROOM AT THE END, ALL WHILE STAYING IN BUDGET.

When I chose to take on this bathroom makeover I thought I would finish in about two weeks because the master bathroom isn’t huge by any means.

Turns out having a toddler running around extends any & all DIY projects by at least 7-10 business days 😅 I always forget that when I am calculating how long a project will take.

Never the less here we are at the end of the month long $100 room challenge with a completely finished bathroom makeover to show y’all!

Let’s all gasp at the before shall we:

I know, I know not good at all! This small bathroom felt dark, cramped, & seriously plain.

During week 1 I started working on the bathroom remodel ideas for the design board. I knew I wanted a wall treatment to help make the small room feel larger. I also wanted it to feel clean & bright, instead of dingy & dark.

Tall orders for a budget bathroom remodel & by budget I mean only getting to spend $100!

Bathroom Remodel Ideas On A Budget

Framing In Bathroom Mirrors

One of my favorite inexpensive bathroom remodel ideas is to frame in existing mirrors with wood.

I desperately wanted one of the mirrors from this list, but it just wasn’t in my teeny tiny budget so I did the next best thing & framed the mirrors I already had.

Framing in the mirrors was probably the easiest project of the entire remodel & it didn’t cost me a penny because I used all scrap 1x2s!

Adding Board and Batten

The second major change for this small master bathroom was adding board and batten made out of 1 sheet of wood MDF!

Talk about an inexpensive bathroom remodel idea! We were able to add tall board and batten around the entire bathroom using only one sheet of $30 wood MDF.

One consistent question we get all the time is about how to make a small room look bigger, well y’all this is my answer. Floor to ceiling board and batten walls give the illusion of taller ceilings.

It was the only week 3 of the budget small bathroom remodel & I already felt like I could breathe easier.

Bathroom Vanity Makeover

With a $100 budget replacing the bathroom vanity was out of the question. Plus the vanity was not in bad shape at all, it just needed a little pop of color & a super cool design feature in the form of peel & stick wallpaper!

I painted the vanity Kettle Black by Valspar. If you have been following along with us for a bit you know I recently painted our outdoor patio ceiling with this color & absolutely loved it!

Plus you can’t complain about leftover paint that won’t add to your budget.

The only thing I spent money on for this bathroom vanity makeover was the peel and stick wallpaper I added to the fronts of the cabinet.

Another cheap bathroom remodel trick is to spray paint your existing hardware with fun new color, like this metallic gold!

The vanity lights got the same metallic makeover & new ombre globes y’all voted for on our Instagram!

Shiplap Feature Wall

The wall behind the bathtub felt a little empty so I decided to add tongue and groove boards. The board were $5.34 a piece & it look 5 of them to complete this little wall.

These hooks are the same ones I used for my coat closet makeover last year! I had two extra because I thought I wanted them closer together in the closet, but I changed my mind & never returned them so this was clearly fate!

Although Justin did have to go to two different Lowes stores to find me the third one so he feels like it was less fate & more a pain in the butt 😉

Faux Marble Shelves

Y’all these marble shelves are definitely one of my most budget savvy decor hacks ever!

My inspiration came from these shelves from World Market. But instead of 2 for $120, mine were $26!

Easy Bathroom Remodel Budget

There were a few other updates, one cheeky DIY sign, & lots of shopping my home/scrap wood pile to stay within this $100 budget.

I also had to sell my two window frames that were originally hanging over the bathtub, the old light globes, & towel bar to give myself a teeny tiny bit extra for this inexpensive bathroom remodel.

So let’s see how I did:

• Framed Mirrors – $0 (scrap wood)
• Board and Batten Walls – $30 (1 MDF sheet)
• Vanity Makeover – $9 (peel & stick wallpaper)
• Faux Marble Shelves – $26 ($6 wallpaper/$20 shelf brackets) 65
• 1 Towel Hook – $4.97 (had 2 bought 1)
• Bath Rug – $20
• Ombre Light Globes – $12 X 4 = $48

Total before sold items = $136.97

Sold Items Profit = + $30

Grand Total Spent = $106.97

Whew, y’all that was a tough one! I would like to thank my scrap wood pile & endless spray paint collection for getting me through this challenge!

Justin definitely doubted me during this budget bathroom makeover & he now has a new appreciation for my scrap wood hoarding!

The only downside is that he now thinks all room renovations can be done with this budget…
