Room Renovation: Laundry Room Week 1
It’s my favorite time of year yall, room renovation time! Yes, we did just complete our office room renovation, but we ( okay okay I) really wanted to participate in the fall One Room Challenge! Justin may not be thrilled but he loves me & is willing to pitch in, in exchange for food, terms accepted! For this room renovation, we decided on transforming the laundry room, because quite frankly it’s sad.
See what I’m talking about?
Its just blah & that’s why laundry doesn’t get done often enough, (that’s the excuse I’m going with). I added that cabinet I bought from a garage sale & tried to add wallpaper to the back to make it look more appealing, but it didn’t work. Our door currently swings into the room & takes up a lot of space because it’s too big to fit flush on the wall. So the door will have to go in order to create more space. I do however love the floors so they will stay! They are that tile that looks like wood & they are my favorite part of the room. I just want this room to be one I enjoy going into because I can’t keep ignoring the laundry forever…
This is my vision/mood/dream board for this room:
I really want to make the space more inviting & functional. I would love to have space for a drying rack & possibly a folding table. My main goal, however, is as always, budget friendly!
Heres my list for this project:
- Shiplap Back Wall
- Paint Laundry Room
- Add Open Shelving
- Build Sliding Barn Doors
- Make a Folding Table
- Create Drying Rack
- New Light Fixture
- Make Laundry Room Sign
Not a crazy terrible list, I think it’s definitely doable in the 6 weeks we have to complete this renovation. I can’t wait to get started, I’ll be posting updates each week so be sure to check back! I love the open shelving AND the chandelier! What a neat light fixture for a laundry room. I think you’ll really enjoy going in there – even to do laundry!

I really love your inspiration. We don’t have a laundry room, more like a nook. Our next house is definitely going to have an actual room and I want to decorate it similar to your picks!
Awe thank you Alexis! Our first house only had a closet laundry room, it’s really nice to have an actualy room now.
