Guest Bedroom Refresh Reveal
A budget savvy way to refresh a space when you don’t have the time or budget to do a whole room renovation
There is nothing like having a newborn baby sleeping in your room to make you want to retreat to the guest bedroom, kidding, kind of. Five days before our little non-sleeper was born I started to “refresh” the guest bedroom.
I love to refresh a room when I don’t have the time or budget to do the complete renovation I want to do. The room was in desperate need of some TLC & I knew with a new baby we would have some guests (my mother) sleeping over to help out. We didn’t have time for a full renovation so a refresh was perfect!

Clearly this room was in desperate need of some help! The furniture was too dark & large for the space so we sold it via market place. After
For every room refresh or renovation, I like to start by creating a design board so I can focus all my ideas for the space. It also helps me create a budget for the room since I try to pick the pieces I want to use before I actually start.

After I got my thoughts collected I started by framing in the large window. This is one of my favorite projects to do because it adds a craftsman finished look to a plain window. My goal is to do every window in our house. So far I have the nursery, office, & kitchen windows
Then, I got to painting the walls Silver Strand by Sherwin Willams. Its a soft greyish blue color that really lightened up the room!
My next project was to makeover an old chest & end table I had, using contact paper. This project was super budget savvy & simple, check out the whole process here.
To save even more
So lets get on with the big reveal shall we?!

~Heres a quick tip- anytime we stay in a hotel I always grab the extra soaps & lotions to bring home for our guests in case they forget anything. I add extra toothbrushes & travel size toothpaste too, & store it all in a cute little box thats easily accessible for out guests~

Ahh so much better! Nothing like a little refresh to completely makeover the space! For the renovation that will happen in the kinda sorta near future, we will add a fancy board & batten pattern to the back wall, replace the flooring, & build closet shelving as we did in the nursery. For now this is perfect!
