Room Renovation: Laundry Room Week 5

Room Renovation: Laundry Room Week 5

Well, here we are at week 5 of our laundry room renovation!

These past 5 weeks have flown by, next week will be our big reveal week & I can’t wait!

We chose the laundry for this renovation because it was really dreary & not a place I love to spend my time. We wanted to make the room more functional & appealing so maybe everyone would have clothes to wear!

I feel that’s a bonus when going out in public.

This week I made our custom laundry room sign & I absolutely love how it turned out!

I also have our folding/rolling cart almost complete.

Laundry Room Sign

The goal budget for our project is $500 & honestly I spent a tad more on our sliding barn doors then I anticipated… so the original sign I found & loved loved loved on Amazon was a no go.

So I decided to make my own & it only cost me about $10, if there was any time for a happy dance it would be now!

Not only was my DIY sign super budget-friendly, but it was also easy peasy.

Supplies:

  • Paint Grade Panel
  • 1X2X8 Whitewood Board
  • Black Spray Paint
  • Stain
  • Vinyl or Stencils
  • Finishing Nails
  • Wood Glue

Process:

The first thing I did was paint my panel with black spray paint I had laying around.

While that was drying I cut the 1X2X8 into 4 pieces to go around the panel

After I cut the 4 pieces I stained them with the same stain I used on the shelves in week 3.

Then, I fit the 4 pieces around the panel, applied wood glue l & held them into place with clamps.

Then I secured them with a few finishing nails.

If you don’t have a Circuit then you could use some cool stencils (like this one).Room Renovation: Laundry Room

After everything was in place I printed out the vinyl lettering I wanted & applied it to my panel.

That’s it!

Super simple DIY frame, most of the supplies I already had laying around the house so this sign only cost me about $10!

Another project complete & we are almost ready for the reveal.
